Clinical partners that are interested in the nationally accredited KU Tobacco Treatment Specialist Fall Training (August 31-November 9, 2026), can contact Melinda Lair, KU Program Manager, mlair@kumc.edu, and complete the application, to be considered for a scholarship worth $1000.

Enrollment is open for those interested in tobacco treatment and recovery to enroll in the University of Kansas Support for Tobacco Recovery Training (STaRT). It is an online self-directed training with eight 15–20-minute modules, available in English and Spanish. STaRT teaches professionals how to navigate the stigma of tobacco use, practice active listening, and connect individuals with resources. Scholarships are still available, so it is no cost to partners connected with KDHE Community Health Promotion. More information can be found below.
