Coalition Spotlight

Brooke Kauchak (she/her) is a transplant from Columbus, Ohio who moved to Wichita in 2021 to serve as a Lead for America Fellow and AmeriCorps Member at the City of Wichita in the City Manager’s Office. During her fellowship, Brooke explored community violence interventions, food access initiatives and best practices, and fostered relationships with community-based organizations and connectors. In 2023, Brooke transitioned into the City’s Office of Community Services as the District 4 Community Services Representative. Brooke is passionate about improving quality of life through advocacy and empowering residents with lived experience to inform policy.

Brooke has enjoyed supporting TFW through the Youth Photovoice Project, co-creating an action plan for the KPCCI Implementation Grant to address vaping prevention for young adults, engaging with City GIS staff to create a heatmap of tobacco retailers, and volunteering for tobacco retailer checks.
